Abstract
This research is aimed at identifying the effectiveness of team quiz to improve student-learning achievement in reading skill and knowing the implementation of team quiz in teaching learning process. The design of this study is a Quassi-experimental or Nonrandomized Control Group, Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of this study were students of SMP Negeri 12 Langsa which is located on Jl. Matang Kitan Gampong Baroh. The research was conducted at Januari 2014. It was conducted in two classes. Each class consisted of 21 and 22 students. To collect quantitative data, the researcher conducted test before and after the research implementation.
