Abstract
The title of this research is A Study of Gender Differences in Speaking Ability at The Eleventh Grade of SMKN 1 Langsa. The purpose of study are to know is there any significant differences between males and females and how gender differences influence the student ability at the Eleventh grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Langsa. The population of this study is the eleventh grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Langsa. The sampling of the research are the eleventh graders of SMK Negeri 1 Langsa in academic year 2012/2013. The subjects were chosen based on the purposive sampling. It mean that's the writer chose them because of the heterogenic class. The writer used two research methods in getting data to the research. They are library research and field research. In library research, he has read many books and articles from internet which have connected with the topic. In field research, he conducted test and interview.
