Abstract

Writing is a way to produce language you do naturally when you speak. It goes back and forth we plan a little, put words on paper, stop to plan when we want to say next, go back and change a sentence, or change our minds altogether. The eyes receive messages and the brain then has to work out the significance of the messages. In addition, writing important to be taught, so teachers should find the suitable other alternative techniques of teaching writing to make students interested in English lesson. One of them are through Cooperative learning (picture and picture). Picture and picture is one method use of images and paired or sorted into order systematic, such as compose images respectively, show pictures, provide captions and explain image. This thesis focuses on teaching writing report text by using cooperative Learning (Picture and picture) at MAN Manyak Payed Kab. Aceh Tamiang. The problem of this study: Is there any significant difference between using and not using cooperative Learning by (picture and picture ) in mastering report text to the eleventh grade students of MAN Manyak Payed Kab.Aceh Tamiang?. The purpose of this study is to find out the significant difference between using and not using Cooperative Learning by (picture and picture ) in mastering report text to the eleventh grade students of MAN Manyak Payed Kab.Aceh Tamiang. The population of this study was all of the students at MAN Manyak Payed Kab.Aceh Tamiang while the sample of this study was two classes of eleventh grade students, namely class experiment and class controls. The technique of sampling is random sampling. This study is quantitative research. The design of this research is experimental design with pretest and post-test procedure. There was a try out before the test. The writer collecting data by using test, which is used testing hypothesis in analyzing data. From the test of hypothesis, the writer found the result tcalculation was 3.57 and ttable was 1.68. Next by comparing between both value, tcalculation is higher than ttable , namely 3.57 > 1.68. It means H1 was accepted and Ho was refused. Thus, there is the effect of using cooperative Learning by (picture and picture) in increasing students’ report text mastery to the MAN Manyak Payed Kab.Aceh Tamiang.
