Abstract
This study aim e d to explore stude nts' pe rce ptio ns on the use of in Eng lish le arning and the diffic ulties they face d in sp eaking Eng lish. This stud y used qualitative m ethod s w ith do cum entatio n and interv iew instrum e nts c ond ucted on 6th sem e ste r stude nts w ith a total of 8 partic ipants m ajoring in E nglish at IA IN L ang sa. The indicato rs of sp eaking diffic ulties stud ied includ ed gram m ar, fluenc y, pronunc iation, and vo cab ulary. In ad dition, the c auses o f spe aking diffic ulties w ere id entified thro ugh the facto rs of lac k o f c onfide nce , anx iety, shyne ss, and lac k of m o tiv atio n. The results show e d that all students had a positive pe rc ep tio n of the use o f in E nglish language le arning, e spec ially in im p ro ving spe aking skills. This re search prov ide d insig ht into the po te ntial use of soc ial m ed ia p latfo rm s such as in supp orting E nglish lang uage learning and id entified areas fo r im p ro ve m e nt to ad dress sp eaking diffic ulties am ong unive rsity stud ents.
