Abstract

This study aimed to explore students' perceptions on the use of tiktok in english lerning and the dufficulties they faced in speaking english. This study used qualitative methods with documentation and interview instrumwnts conducted on 6th semester student with a total of 8 participants majoring in english at IAIN Langsa. The indicator of speaking difficulties studied included grammar, fluency, pronunciation, and vocabulary In addition, the causes of speaking difficulties were identified through the factors of lack of confidence, anxiety, shyness, and lack of motivation. The results showed that all students had a positive perception of the use of tiktok in English language learning, especially in improving speaking skills. This research provided in sight in to the potential use of social media platforms such as tiktok in supporting English language learning and identified areas for improvement to address speaking difficulties among university students.
