Abstract

This study investigated about the application of journal writing in enhancing students’ writing skill. The study was a Classroom Action Research. The subject of the study was of students XI MIA 4 of SMA N 1 Karang Baru academic year of 2018/2019 that consisted of 30 students. The writer applied test and obsevation as the instrument for collecting the data. The test was essay write to recount text. Observation was conducted to monitor students` activities during teaching and learning process. After the researcher conducted the study, the researcher conducted a classroom action research as the methodology of this research. Result revealed that students’ score was 65.76 in cycle I. While in cycle II 74.83. It showed that, the score of the students improved and achieved the KKM which was 75
