Abstract

This research provides an analysis of the corrective feedback in writing student’s research proposal. This research was aim to analyzed students perceived of the corrective feedback that the lecturer applied when providing corrective feedback to their research proposal, and to described the types of corrective feedback that they received from their lecturer. The research applied qualitative method with phenomenology approach research. In the case, the researcher selected 5 students as participants. To collect the primary data, the researcher applied interview and documentation. The documentation instruments collected the students’ research proposal which were given written feedback by their lecturers. It was done to know the types of lecturers’ written feedback given to the students. There are two different types of lecturers’ feedback, they are direct and unfocused feedback. Based on the analysis of the students’ writing, it is figured out that the lecturer mostly gives feedback in a direct way. The interview listed and obtaining information about students’ perceived and types of corrective feedback that their lecturers applied on their research proposal. Based on the data collection, the result shows students felt the corrective feedback is very significant for them. It can be seen that they need it to improve their writing on research proposal.
