Abstract
Name, Bunga Ulia Ulfa, Place/Date of Birth, Kualasimpang, April 23th 1993, Reg No 1042011012, The Title of Thesis Improving Student’s Writing Through Self Regulated Learning At Ten Grade Students At Man Kualasimpang. The objective of this study are to know improving English writing to the X grade students of MAN Kualasimpang using Self Regulated Learning (SRL) model. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher conducted a Classroom Action Research. This classroom action research was conducted at MAN Kualasimpang with the subject X MIA-1 grade students. There were 22 students, 3 boys and 19 girls. In conducting this classroom action research, the researcher took two cycles, each cycle consisted of four phase, they were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Each cycle was conducted in one meetings; it was consisted of teaching learning process and test, so the researcher conducted this researcher in three meeting for one month. To analyze and collect the date, the researcher gained the observation and test of cycle 1 and 2. The result of this study showed that using Self Regulated Learning (SRL) model at X grade students of MAN Kualasimpang could improve students’ English writing. The students’ responses showed that they were interested in learning English because they looked fun and had a big motivation in teaching learning process. Moreover, the analysis of the data showed that there was a significant difference of the students’ average in the test of cycle 1 and cycle 2. The students’ average in cycle 1 was 66,74 and the students’ average in cycle 2 was 75,4. Based on this data, the researcher concluded that English writing at ten grade students of MAN Kualasimpang could improve by using SRL model.
