Abstract
The title of this research is The Students Difficulties in Mastering Vocabulary to the Tenth Grade Students at MAN 1 Langsa. The purposes of study are to know the difficulties of ten grade students of MAN 1 Langsa in mastering vocabulary and to find out factors cause the difficulties in mastering vocabulary of ten grade students at MAN 1 Langsa. The population of this study is the tenth grade students of MAN 1 Langsa in academic year 2012/2013. The subjects were chosen based on the purposive sampling. It mean that's the writer chose them because of the heterogenic class. The writer used two research methods in getting data to the research. They are libraey research and field research. In library research, he has read many books and articles from internet which have connected with the topic. In field research, he conducted questionnaires and interview.
