Abstract

This study aims to determine students' reading interest in using the Tiktok application at SMPN 8 Langsa. This study uses a qualitative approach using a type of phenomenology. The research subjects were 6 students at SMP Negeri 8 Lagsa. Data collection was carried out by observation, documentation and interviews as research validity data. The results showed that students were very interested in using the Tiktok application as a reading medium. Students considered the Tiktok application to be something positive and could be used as a medium for students' interest in reading. It can be concluded that Tiktok is an application that can be used to increase students' interest in reading.
