Abstract
The objective of this research was to investigate the technique of using guessing game to students speaking skill at MTs Al-Umroniyah Tanjung Medan. The data were collected quantitatively. The researcher used classroom action research in this study. The subjects of this research were 10 students of MTs Al-Umroniyah Tanjung Medan. The researcher used two cycle and each cycle consisted of sixth meetings. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation and reflection. In order to know the effect of guessing game for students, the researcher used pre�test and post-test. The result of pre-test and post-test showed the effect of using the guessing game for students speaking skill. The mean score of pre-test was 41 and the mean score of post-test in cycle I was 48 and 30% of the students could pass the passing grade. The improvement mean of the post-test in cycle II rise 65 in mean score and 80% of the students could pass the passing grade. Based on the data analysis, the researcher found that guessing game has an effect to improve students’ speaking skill. The post-test score showed that the students has improvement.
