Abstract

This research studied about teaching vocabulary mastery by using Movie Maker media. Movie Maker is a program Windows that creating or editing the movie. It is to make the students easier remember new words. Moreover, the research purposed to find out students‟ score and achievement in vocabulary mastery. The writer used experimental design as method of the research and selected 60 students as the samples which are divided into; 30 in experimental class and 30 in control class. Then, the writer compared students‟ score in learning and test was to collecting the data in this study. There are three phases to data collecting; pretest, treatment, and posttest. The experimental class received the movie maker media in five meetings during three weeks. The finding showed that there were the significance differences from the result means of posttest. After did the analyses of the data‟s posttest, the value of TCount is 2.48 with the significance level is 0.19. Meanwhile, the value of Ttable is 2.00 with the significant level is 0,05. Based on the result that is any difference between TCount and Ttable. TCount is bigger than Ttable (2.48 > 2.00). Because TCount is bigger than T-table, so the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. It means study by using movie maker can improve students‟ vocabulary mastery at school MTs Negeri 1 Langsa. The implementation of movie maker media gave the positive responses from students toward the teaching vocabulary.
